ANTI-RUST MATERIAL

 

Unlike conventional rust preventives that are water-displacing (wax paper), water-absorbing (clay or silica), dehumidification, and barrier products (LDPE/HDPE) try to alter an ever-changing environment surrounding the metal, VCI technology passivates the metal's surface as well as deactivates the humidity surrounding the metal components. The VCI molecules align on the surface of the metal to a depth of 3 to 5 molecules. This layer of molecules protect surface and creates a barrier that prevents oxidation. The corrosion cell (the flow of electrons in the metal and the flow of ions in the electrolytic surface layer) is unable to establish itself. Corrosion is halted;


VCI FILM


RD-20 VCI film is infused by polyethylene and VCI resin, providing long-term anti-corrosion protection (above 2 years). It has good damp proofing and plasticity properties, can use to packing lager products. The chemicals in DEC RD products are volatile. When metals are wrapped or packaged in VCI, the chemicals volatilize in the packaging environment, forming a protective nanometer grade molecular layer on the surface of the metal. This protective layer serves as a barrier, preventing moisture, salt, dirt, oxygen, and other corrosion causing materials from depositing directly on the metal and causing rust and corrosion.
